SSS Clutches are suitable for use with Gas Turbine (GT) starters driven by electric or hydraulic motors, steam turbines, diesel engines etc.

  • SSS Clutches can be installed directly to on the turbines themselves, in main drive or auxiliary gearboxes or externally mounted in their own casings.
  • The Clutch allows the GT to be accelerated from rest to ‘self-sustaining speed’ following which the clutch disengages the drive so that the starter motor can be stopped.
  • ‘On-the-fly’ restarting is also possible after a failed start without the need for the the turbine to be brought to rest.
