With it’s ability to operate at high running speeds and it’s inherent reliability the SSS Clutch provides the perfect coupling for dual driven high speed compressors.

The SSS Clutch provides increased availablilty, redundancy and maintainability as well as improving energy efficiency and enabling energy recovery.

Demand Response and Energy Storage

Dual driven gas compressors can also be used for energy storage and electrical demand response by utilising the gas pipeline network. When there is renewable energy, the power is used for gas compression by connecting the electric motor drive. When there is not enough renewable energy, the compressor can quickly and easily switch to the gas engine / gas turbine reducing electrical demand and helping to balance the grid.
